REF:
About No. of Gas springs
Tooltip for the user about how to decidie to choose one or more gas springs.
About Lid Length
This is the length from the center of the hinge to the end of your lid measured in mm.
About Lid Weight
This is the weight of your lid measured in KGs.
About Box Depth
How deep is your box, this will help us find a gas springs that can be suited inside your box measured in in mm.
About Box Length
What is the length of your box , this will help us find a gas springs that can be suited inside your box measured in in mm.
About Box Thickness
This is the thickness of the backside of your box measured in mm.
About Lid Thickness
This is the thickness of the lid measured in mm.
About Lower Frame Height
The distance of the lower frame is the area under the hinge where the bracket can be mounted. To calculate possible mount position on surface its important to know available area.
About Tempreture
Only use gas springs in temperatures from -30 C to 80 C. Type in the temperature you would like the gas spring to operate in. Leave field empty if you do not know the specific temperature requirements.
About Distance from lid inner surface to box inner surface
The distance from box inner surface to box inner surface measured horizontally.
About Distance from edge to hinge
The distance between the edge of the box to the center of the edge. Fill this information is your hinge center is not parallel to the box edge.
Normally opend Vs. Normally closed positions
Normally Opened
When the lid is closed, the gas spring will always try to open the lid. Lock on the closed lid is required.
Normally closed
When the lid is closed, the gas spring will always try to keep the lid closed. It requires a force to open the lid. After a short movement, the gas spring will help open the lid. If you need a specific handle force to open the lid, you can in later steps add this force.
About Opening Angle
The maximum angle of your lid when it is opened. Angel measured in degrees.
The maximum angle of your lid when it is opened (vertical position). Angle measured in degrees.
Opening angel is the angel from closed vertical position to wished oblique opening line under the hinge.Max opening angle is total 130 dg. measured from vertical closed position = from vertical to max 40 dg under horizontal. If lid is vertical angel is 0. If lid is horizontal angel is 90 and so on.
Dear customer.
We have made this program to help you to find gas springs and end fittings to your construction.
The program is based on few steps where you have some choices, and at the end you will get a solution with mounting instructions, and finally easy access to our web shop with all items included in the basket. It cannot be easier.
Please be in mind that this program only can be used as a guideline, not as an accurate tool. Many things in the costumer construction and information given by the costumer can affect the result. The calculations and the mount instruction are made to a construction unknown to Sodemann Industrifjedre A/S. Calculations are automatically made based on information filled in by the customer. Sodemann Industrifjedre A/S has no influence on the data used, and the result. Therefore, any damage, accidents, etc. as a result of using this calculation tool and mount instruction, is at costumers own risk. Model A
Vertical lid. Hinge on top. In the closed position the lid is hanging down. The lid opens to horizontal level.
Model B
Horizontal lid. The closed position lid is horizontal. Lid opens to vertical position max 90 dg.
Model C
Vertical lid. Hinge on bottom. In the closed position the lid is up vertical. The lid can move from vertical to an oblique line under the hinge. The Gas spring is mounted on the lid and on the area under the hinge.
Hinge Position
Please choose your preferred hinge mounting method.
External
Easy use. Hinge fastened with screws in the end of the lid. Requires a thick lid to secure well dimensioned and fastened screws.
Extended
Easy use. This method will result in a little gap between the lid and box when the lid is opened.
